Common Defects in Robotic Welding

1. There is a welding offset problem

It may be that the welding position is not correct or there is a problem with the welding torch. At this time, it is necessary to consider whether the TCP (the position of the center of the welding torch) is accurate and adjust it. If this happens frequently, check the zero position of each axis of the robot and re-calibrate to correct it.

 

2. There is an undercut problem

The welding parameters may be improperly selected, the angle of the welding torch or the position of the welding torch may be incorrect, which can be adjusted appropriately.

 

3. There is a stomata problem

It may be that the gas protection is poor, the primer of the workpiece is too thick or the protective gas is not dry enough, and it can be dealt with by adjusting accordingly.

 

4. Excessive splashing problem

It may be due to improper selection of welding parameters, gas composition or too long wire extension. You can adjust the power of the machine to change the welding parameters, adjust the gas proportioning instrument to adjust the gas mixture ratio, and adjust the relative position of the welding torch and the workpiece.

 

5. The problem of arc crater formation after cooling at the end of the weld

Add submerged arc crater function in the work step when programmable, it can be filled up.

1. A hit shot

It may be due to deviations in workpiece assembly or inaccurate TCP of the welding torch, check the assembly or correct the TCP of the welding torch.

 

2. When an arc fault occurs, the arc cannot be started

It may be because the welding wire does not touch the workpiece or the process parameters are too small. You can manually feed the wire, adjust the distance between the welding torch and the welding seam, or adjust the process parameters appropriately.

 

3. Protective gas monitoring and alarm

The cooling water or shielding gas supply is faulty, check the cooling water or shielding gas pipeline.
